Lyrics
You should meet my wife
You'd love her, if she weren't you
You'd love her like I do
Like no other, it's true
You should see my wife
She's a stunner, and she's you
Like a summer's morning view
Like no other, it's true
And you probably won't agree
but you move the Earth for me
I know that you don't see
You're exactly what I need
When you let me carry you
That's love, spoken out loud
When I married you
I knew all about it, from the start
Unconditional, our vows, so let go
You're in my hands now
You should hear my wife
She's funny, you'll agree
It's funny that you don't see
Just how sunny you can be
And you probably won't agree
but you move the Earth for me
And I know that you don't see
You're exactly what I need
When you let me carry you
That's love, spoken out loud
When I married you
I knew all about it, from the start
Unconditional, our vows, so let go
You're in my hands now
When you let me carry you
That's love, spoken out loud
When I married you
I knew all about it, from the start
Unconditional, our vows, so let go
You're in my hands now
Background
I think this one is mostly self-explanatory, but to be clear, this song is about how marriage is through sickness and health. It's not transactional, it's unconditional. So I hope my wife (and all married folks) remember that the whole point of marriage is to lift each other up. Accepting help from your partner doesn't make you a burden, it's often an opportunity to show their love.
